How Rent a Car M collects, uses and protects your personal data.
1. Who we are
Rent a Car M is a car rental company based in Belgrade, Serbia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Rent a Car M. You can reach us at office@rentacarm.com or +381 617288688.
2. What data we collect
We collect only the information you provide through our booking form, contact form or by email/phone: name, phone number, email address, dates of rental, selected vehicle and any additional notes. If you rent a vehicle, we also collect the ID/passport and driving license details required to draft a rental contract.
3. Why we use your data
We use your data solely to prepare a rental offer, process your reservation, deliver and pick up the vehicle, and communicate with you about your rental. Contract data is stored as required by Serbian accounting and tax law.
4. Legal basis
The legal basis is (a) performance of a rental contract you request, (b) our legitimate interest in operating and improving our service, and (c) compliance with legal obligations (invoicing, road-traffic reporting, insurance claims).
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary information with (a) our accounting provider for invoicing, (b) our insurance partner in case of a claim, and (c) authorities when legally required. Emails are delivered through Resend as a transactional provider.
6. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 with IP-anonymisation to understand traffic patterns. Cookies set by GA4 are used only in aggregate. You can block cookies in your browser without losing access to the site.
7. Data retention
Booking inquiries are kept for up to 12 months. Signed rental contracts and invoices are kept as required by tax law (currently up to 10 years). After that period we delete or fully anonymise the records.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Serbia. 9. Security
Data is stored on managed EU/US infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised staff involved in operating your rental.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with the date below.
