Car Rental in Belgrade: The Perfect 7-Day Itinerary for Tourists

Seven days is the perfect length for a Serbia trip, and car rental in Belgrade turns it from a city break into a full road trip. Here is the itinerary we recommend most often to guests.

Day 1 — Arrival. We deliver the car free to Nikola Tesla Airport or your hotel. Drop your bags, park in a zoned street (Zone 3 is cheapest near the centre) and walk Knez Mihailova and Kalemegdan.

Day 2 — Belgrade by car. Ada Ciganlija, Saint Sava Temple, Zemun quay and Gardoš tower. Zemun is far easier with a car than by bus.

Day 3 — Novi Sad and Petrovaradin (80 km, 1h). Free parking on the fortress side, then dinner in Dunavska street.

Day 4 — Fruška Gora wineries (1h20). A car is essentially required; the small cellars are not on any bus route. Nominate a non-drinking driver.

Day 5 — Tara National Park and the Drina house (3h30). Stay overnight in Bajina Bašta.

Day 6 — Zlatibor and Mokra Gora (1h30 from Tara). Drvengrad and the Šargan Eight railway.

Day 7 — Return to Belgrade (3h30) and hand back the car anywhere in the city or at the airport — free of charge.

Total distance is around 900 km. With unlimited mileage that costs you nothing extra; a compact diesel will burn roughly €70–€90 of fuel for the whole week.
